Lobby Days/Fly-Ins
In addition to strategic advice, Crimson Consulting has a thriving track record of successful lobby days or “fly-ins” for clients. Whether it is a once-a-year activity or a once-a-month activity, we recognize that this is an opportunity to not only brand our client on Capitol Hill but could possibly determine the outcome of your legislative agenda. Fly-ins are a priceless advocacy tool and we welcome the opportunity to work on this multi-faceted project with you. Some of the services we provide to ensure your success are:
Lobbying Disclosures
Crimson Consulting has experienced unique success in assisting clients with lobbying disclosure compliance. In 2007, Congress enacted the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act (HLOGA) that not only tightens the restrictions of what a lobbyist or company can and can’t do, but also requires considerably more filings and documentation than the original Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA). It’s a time consuming process and a lobbyist’s time is more efficiently spent lobbying, than handling paperwork.
Not only will we prepare your reports and file prior to all deadlines, we will also keep you up to date on the constant changes and clarifications of HLOGA. We can assist you in creating internal tracking systems for both lobbying issues and the individual filings that every registered lobbyist must now complete with all of their contributions and certifications of ethics compliance.
HLOGA is a needed reform that provides more disclosure and transparency, but with that also comes hefty criminal and civil penalties for non-compliance. In addition, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) conducts random audits. The best way to be equipped in this new lobbying environment is to be prepared and Crimson Consulting will guide you through the process.
